North Korea cancelled talks on the resumption of fami강남오피ly reunions and the Mt. Geumgang tour, Thursday, according to th강남오피e Ministry of Unification.

A day earlier, Seoul had accept강남오피ed Pyongyang’s offer to begin talks on the family reunion program but put off the offer to resume tours to the Ge강남오피umgang resort area in the North.

“The North sent us a message that it will cancel both meetings,” said a 강남오피Unification Ministry official. “I believe the North will now focus on restarting operations at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex강남오피 (GIC).”

Observers say Pyongyang’s cancellation of the talks is a res강남오피ponse to Seoul’s refusal to participate in talks on the resumption강남오피 of Mt. Geumgang tourism. The official added that the government had urged the North to accept the South’s wishes to resume the reunions for family members separated by the Korean War (1950-53). Among se강남오피parated Korean families, a few thousand have been temporarily reunited. The last time an inter-Korean family reunion took place was in Novemb강남오피er 2010.

They say the upcoming inter-Korean nego역삼오피tiations at the GIC slated for Monday will not be easy given the North역삼오피’s attitude.

Meanwhile, Unification Minister Ry역삼오피oo Kihl-jae said Seoul wants to focus on dealing with the impasse over the joint in역삼오피dustrial project.

The minister's comments come a day after talks held at the b역삼오피order town of Gaeseong made no headway on the GIC is역삼오피sue.

Wednesday’s talks stalled as Seou역삼오피l stressed the need for strong safeguards to prevent future unilateral disruptions to business operations at the park. It also insisted the North apologize for its action that halted operations and caused considerab역삼오피e damage to South Korean companies.

Pyongyang, on the other hand, wanted the immediate resumption of operations and blamed the South for the current situation. However, the two sides did agree to hold more talks.

Pilots of the crashed Asiana airplane provided a 강남오피 testimony that a strong ray of light momentarily blinded their eyesight sec강남오피onds before the crash.

(서울=연합뉴스) 정빛나 기자 = 미국의 '빅 브라더' 행태를 폭강남오피로한 에드워드 스노든이 21개국에 동시다발적으로 망명 신청을 했지만 좀처럼 성사되지 않으면서 '국제 미아'로 전락할 처지에 놓였다.

미국 타임지 등 외신은 스노든이 지금까지 21개국에 망명 신강남오피청을 했지만, 최악의 경우 그가 오도 가도 못 하는 신세가 될 수도 있강남오피다고 2일(현지시간) 보도했다.

타임지에 따르면 현재까지 21개국 가강남오피운데 오스트리아 브라질, 에콰도르, 핀란드, 인도, 아일랜드, 네덜란드, 노르웨이, 폴란드, 스페인, 스위스 등 총 11개국은 망명강남오피 거부 방침을 밝혔다.

망명 허용 여부를 고려하겠다고 밝힌 나라는 볼리비아와 베네수엘라 2곳뿐강남오피이다.

이 외 중국, 쿠바, 프랑스, 독일, 아이슬란드, 이탈리아, 니카라과강남오피 등 7개국은 공식 입장을 밝히지 않았고, 러시아에 대한 망명 신청은 스노든이강남오피 자진 철회했다.

전직 중앙정보국(CIA) 직원이었던 스노든은 지난 강남오피5월 홍콩으로 건너가 미국 국가안보국(NSA)의 기밀 감시프로그램을 폭로한 뒤 얼마 전 러시아 모스크바로 도피했다.

According to the Bank of Korea 분당오피and the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute on Sunday, Korea reported $1.59 billion in tourism deficit for the first five months of the year, m분당오피ore than 11-fold the figure during the same period of last year.

The deficit came largely because Korean travelers spent $7 bill분당오피ion for their overseas stay, up by 14.3 percent from last year. It 분당오피was the largest spending for the January-May period.

On the contrary, foreign travelers spent $5.4 billion, 9.6 perc분당오피ent down from a year before.

By May, Kor분당오피ea had a tourism deficit for 12 straight months.

For the first five months of the year, more than 6 million Koreans went on overseas visits, up 분당오피by 9.5 percent.

“The increase has been driven by a growing number of international flights by low-cost c분당오피arriers and the strong Korean won against the dollar and 분당오피the yen,” an official of the institute said.

“With the vacation season approaching, more people are forecas분당오피t to head abroad. We expect nearly 15 million Kore분당오피ans to take overseas trips this year,” he said.

Last year, the number of Kore분당오피ans traveling overseas was 13.7 million.

The number of foreign visitors to Korea also rose for the January-May period분당오피, but only by 1.8 percent to 4.4 million. Although the number of Chinese travelers hiked, tha분당오피t of Japanese visitors plunged by 24.9 percent to 373,000.

관광수지 적자 '눈덩이'…5월까지 작년 동기의 11배

여름 휴가철을 앞둔 가운데 올해 관광수지 적자가수원오피 눈덩이처럼 불어나고 있다.

30일 한국은행과 한국문화관광연구수원오피원에 따르면 올해 1∼5월 관광수지 적자액은 15억9천640만달러로, 작년 동기(1억수원오피4천60만달러)의 11.4배에 달했다.

이는 한국인 관광객이 외국에 가서 쓴 관광 지출이 수원오피70억3천350만달러로 작년 동기보다 8억7천930만달러(14.3%)나 늘어 1∼5월 기준으로는 사상 수원오피최대에 달할 정도로 증가했기 때문이다.

이에 비해 외국인이 한국에 와서 소비한 관광 수입은 54억3천710만수원오피달러로 작년 같은 기간보다 5억7천650만달러(9.6%) 감소수원오피했다.
